Holidays
We follow the Anchorage School District calendar for days off and holidays. This includes in-service days, snow days, school holidays, and vacation periods. If ASD schools are closed, so are we.

Amazing Grace Lutheran Preschool is governed by a board of directors that includes the pastor of Amazing Grace Lutheran Church. The director, Mary Scott, is also a member of Amazing Grace. Amazing Grace Preschool

Amazing Grace Lutheran Preschool has been a vital part of our church’s ministry since 1992. With a reputation as one of the premiere preschools in south Anchorage, we’ve discovered we never have to advertise. Our satisfied and enthusiastic parents do that for us!

Mary Scott has been our director since our school’s beginning. Mary and her husband John have been active members of Amazing Grace since 1989 and raised their three children in the church.

Beth Parsons is our assistant director. Both Mary and Beth have a degree in early childhood development. Most of our staff teaches only one or two classes per week. Two-thirds of our staff has been on board for over ten years, providing stability and continuity as well as a good testimony to our pleasant working atmosphere and excellent parent-teacher relations.

Our preschool provides morning two- and three-day classes for three-year-olds, morning three-day classes for four-year-olds, and an afternoon four-day pre-kindergarten program for older students.

Our curriculum provides learning opportunities suitable to these age groups in a welcoming atmosphere. Along with pre-kindergarten skills, our curriculum encourages social skills like cleaning up, good manners and sharing, all in a cheerful and fun-filled environment.

Our program, licensed by the Municipality of Anchorage, runs September through May. We follow the schedule of the Anchorage School District with regards to in-service, vacation and snow days.
