Soaked in Prayer”
Amazing Grace Lutheran Church
Prayer Chain
The Amazing Grace Prayer Chain is one component of prayer life at Amazing Grace Lutheran Church. Our prayer chain is a group of men, women, and young adults who pray for the concerns and thanksgivings of those requesting prayer. The importance of the Prayer Chain is that it faithfully intercedes on behalf of others in need by lifting up specific requests, concerns, and emergency situations. It also teaches us of God’s grace with its prayers of thanksgiving.
Prayer Requests
Prayer requests are sent by email or phoned to Chris Barnett, Administrative Assistant or her designee in the Amazing Grace office (907.344.4317) or Amazing Grace [aglc@gci.net]. Anyone wishing to make a prayer request may do so using the guidelines below:
Prayer requests and the information pertaining to the request are placed on the Prayer Chain with permission of the person who is being prayed for or with permission of their spokesperson if they are unable to give permission. The person being prayed for may remain confidential if that is the desire. The requester should state if names may be used and if the prayer may be mentioned in Sunday prayers.
All statements on the Prayer Chain are in a prayer format.
Those requesting prayer are encouraged to request prayers of concern AND prayers of thanksgiving.
Join the Prayer Chain
Anyone desiring to become a member of the Prayer Chain may do so by notifying the Amazing Grace office. Prayers are sent to those on the Prayer Chain as a “BCC”. Those on the Prayer Chain are asked to:
Pray immediately for each request.
“ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened” Matthew 7:7
“”ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day…..Rejoice evermore….Pray without ceasing…In everything give thanks” 1 Thessalonians 5
Keep in mind that prayer requests are to be kept confidential unless stated otherwise. Be sensitive to the hurts and misunderstanding that broken trust in a congregation can cause.
“Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips,” Psalm 141: 3
