We believe that the youth are not just the future, they are the present and the future. They are capable of more things now than ever before. We need to provide a place for growth, support, and love for our youth to help them find their way and find God in this life. Our vision is to create and strengthen relationships between young people, Jesus, their friends/peers, adult mentors, and parents/family. Through these relationships youth will learn to model their faith through discipleship, action, and service. The youth and families will continue to grow outside of the church as they experience new things and actively participate in each other’s lives.
What is Confirmation? Throughout our time in Confirmation, we’ll talk about the words said during baptism and Confirmation. When you’re ready and believe the words you will say during the Affirmation of Baptism (Confirmation) service, you become an adult member of the congregation. Affirming your baptism (Confirmation) means that you decide that the promises made for you at baptism (by parents and sponsors) are your own responsibility now. Sounds a little scary, but responsibility can seem that way. Confirmation (taking on your own baptismal promise to grow your faith) is one of the most exciting things!
